Description: Agnello de’ Bruelleschi, a noble Florentine thief, is transformed into a serpent by the newly serpentine Cianfa Donati, also a noble Florentine thief. His friends watch on from behind. The engraver, Jacques Adrien Lavielle (1818-1862) has placed his signature at the bottom right, while the artist Gustave Doré (1832-1888) has placed his signature at the bottom left.
