Description: The serpent tempts Adam and Eve with fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, while in the background Adam and Eve are expelled from the Garden of Eden after eating the tree’s fruit. The monogram of the artist, Virgil Solis (1514-1562), is still faintly visible at the bottom right corner of the woodcut.
