Description: In the printer’s device of Hans Lufft (1495-1584) displays a two-handed sword held upright piercing a heart with two serpents winding down the sword. One gnashes at the crossbar of the sword as the other sinks a fang into one of the hands grasping the hilt. Several copies of this device with slight variations are known.
