Image Title: Historiated Title-Page Border

Description: This historiated title-page border consists of Jesus enthroned and holding an orb (top). Below the throne is the coat of arms of King Philip II of Spain (r. 1554-1598), with the collar for the Order of the Golden Fleece, a chivalric order, around the arms. On both sides of the arms are angels, with the Tetragrammaton (left) and Christogram IHS (right) above them. On either side of the title are pairs of breaking wheels, also known as a Catherine wheel, after Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Below the title is a scene portraying Jesus as the Good Shepherd.
